Classic and modern played a role at Lanvin's latest menswear collection in Paris, France. For Mr. Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver, it was all about the suit; however, it was not the traditional suit. Loose silhouettes gave a soft modern feel combined with high waisted trousers for the gentleman this time, not the Wall Street dandy. Slim attache briefcases and tailored gloves gave the new look some power. Subtle details from the jumpers to the stitching on the jackets and some sportswear influence was apparent throughout the collection. Maybe the designers are trying to tell us that now we have no excuse to not walk to work in style. I say, lace up those Lanvin trainers and hit the boardroom boys!
